Process Leader with a Focus on Climate

Sundsvall Municipality has approximately 8000 employees and is significant for our society. We are Sundsvall's largest employer with several workplaces in various operations and around 300 different professions.

In the Department of Community Development and Sustainability, there are about 16 employees with different strategic responsibilities. This includes responsibility for infrastructure, climate issues, social and ecological sustainability, comprehensive planning, and rural issues. With the goals of creating 5000 new jobs by 2030, becoming climate-neutral, and reducing social inequalities, we work hard to stay at the forefront. We strive to find synergies between growth goals, environmental goals, and social objectives. To succeed in this, we are active in collaboration and communication with authorities, businesses, civil society, and citizens.

We are now looking for a process leader with a focus on climate who shares our strong commitment to Sundsvall's development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the process leader primarily involves working to make Sundsvall Municipality climate-neutral by 2030, but other relevant work in the environmental field may also arise. The process leader will coordinate the municipality's overall climate efforts and will also be an important part of the municipality's external advocacy work. The assignment is based on political decisions and takes place in dialogue with the various parts of the municipal group, other authorities, private individuals, and businesses. As part of your duties, you will drive processes and lead the local transition work both internally and externally, as well as coordinate climate investments.

Your duties also include, among other things:

• working with climate issues for Sundsvall Municipality
• working closely with the municipal leadership by keeping them updated on climate-related issues
• preparing materials for investigations, drafting responses, and other matters for political decisions and internal handling
• building networks and working for change both within and outside the municipal group
• participating in or project-managing development projects within the climate area
• Additional tasks in the area may occur

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in a field deemed suitable by the employer, or alternatively, you have another post-secondary education combined with several years of relevant and current work experience that the employer considers relevant. An academic degree and a degree in environmental or climate-related fields, advocacy/change work, and/or behavior change are meritorious.

You have a few years of current professional experience in environmental or climate-related fields that the employer considers relevant for the position. It is important that you have basic IT skills and very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

We consider it meritorious if you have the following knowledge and experience:

• Experience working in a politically governed or larger organization.
• Experience coordinating and leading projects.
• Experience coordinating and developing working methods as well as leading change or behavior change work.
• Experience in giving presentations, writing reports, and preparing materials.
• Driving license B.
